With recent advances in technology and the need to utilize a clean burning fuel, development of unconventional shale plays is increasing dramatically around the globe.  Clearfield County is poised to benefit immensely from this development.  The CCEDC recognizes the potential presented by the Marcellus and other shale plays in Pennsylvania and have taken the following steps to welcome the oil & gas industry into the county:

  • Creation of Energy Department and addition of VP of Energy Development staff position to assist energy companies conducting business in Clearfield County
    • Assist in the acquisition of land & buildings
    • Help meet workforce needs
    • Educate the public about the oil & gas industry
    • Liasion between energy companies and local/state government
  • Construction of a 20,000 square-foot multi-tenant facility designed specifically for the oil & gas industry
    • Five suites ranging in size from 3,000-5,000 square feet
    • Capacity to hold 10 ton overhead cranes
    • Drive-through bay doors
    • 22 foot ceilings
